sample alabama GOLF ITINERARIES

Post Masters® in Central Alabama - 7 days/6 nights

Day 1:  Drive to Opelika (4 hours from Augusta); Dinner at Acre in Auburn; Stay at Marriott Grand National Resort & Spa, Opelika for 2 nights

Day 2: Play 18-36 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Grand National; Visit John Emerald Distillery and Dinner at Zazu Gastropub in downtown Opelika

Day 3:  Depart for Montgomery/Prattville (1 hour drive); Play 18 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville; Dinner at Dreamland BBQ or Wintzell’s Oyster House in downtown Montgomery; Stay at either the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa in downtown or the Marriott Hotel at Capitol Hill in Prattville for 2 nights 

Day 4: Play 18-36 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill; Civil Rights History Tour in Montgomery; Dinner at Central in Montgomery

Day 5:  Depart for Birmingham (1.5 hour drive); Play 18-36 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley, Birmingham; Dinner at Saws BBQ in Avondale); Stay at Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa in Hoover for 2 nights

Day 6:  Play 18 holes at Highland Park, Alabama’s oldest golf course; Spa afternoon or Tour Barber Motorsports Museum; Dinner at Ross Bridge

Day 7:  Play 18 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Ross Bridge; Depart from Birmingham airport (BHM)


North Alabama - 7 days/6 nights

Day 1:  Fly into Huntsville (HSV); Drive 1 hour west to Florence; Play 18 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals; Dinner at 360 at Renaissance Shoals, Alabama's only revolving restaurant high above the Tennessee River;  Enjoy live music in Swampers and stay at Renaissance Shoals Hotel & Spa for 2 nights

Day 2:  Play 18-36 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals; Tour Muscle Shoals music studios (FAME and Muscle Shoals Sound); Dinner at Odette’s and listen to live music in downtown Florence

Day 3:  Depart for Birmingham (2 hour drive); Play 18 holes at Ross Bridge; Stay and Dine at Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa in Hoover for 2 nights

Day 4:  Play 36 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley;  Check out the Magic City Brewery Trail in Birmingham

Day 5: Depart for Gadsden (1 hour drive); Play 27 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Silver Lakes; Depart for Huntsville for an evening at  Campus 805, the site of two craft breweries and restaurants Stay 2 nights at 106 Jefferson, A Hilton Curio Collection in downtown Huntsville

Day 6: Play 18-36 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove, visit US Space & Rocket Center in the afternoon and dine at Cotton Row Steakhouse

Day 7: Play 18 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove, Depart from Huntsville airport (HSV)


Coastal Alabama Golf - 5 days/4 nights

Day 1:  Fly into Pensacola, FL (PNS); Head west for 45 minutes on Interstate 10 and play 18 holes at Rock Creek in Fairhope; Drive 30 minutes  south to Gulf Shores-Orange Beach; Dinner at Lulu’s, Jimmy Buffet’s sister’s restaurant; Stay in a beachfront condo (like The Beach Club), golf condos (like Kiva Lodge), or a hotel (like The Lodge at the Gulf). Beach homes are also available.

Day 2:  Play 18 holes at Kiva Dunes; Afternoon Beach Club Spa Visit; Dinner at Cobalt and Live Music at the world-famous FloraBama, home of the Bushwacker

Day 3:  Morning Deep Sea Fishing Trip; Afternoon Play 18-27 holes at Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club; Dinner at Tacky Jack’s, where they will cook the fish you caught in the morning and Live Music at The Hangout

Day 4:  Play 18-36 holes at Craft Farms; Drinks at Big Beach Brewery or The Gulf and Dinner at Coastal or Big Fish

Day 5:  Play 18 holes at Gulf Shores Golf Club and depart for Pensacola, FL (PNS)


Musical Drive through Alabama (starting in Memphis or Nashville and ending in New Orleans) - 7 days/6 nights

Day 1: Fly into Memphis or Nashville; Drive to Florence (2-2.5 hours); Play 18 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals; Dinner at 360 an enjoy live music in Swampers; Stay at Renaissance Shoals Hotel & Spa for 2 nights; 

Day 2: Play 18 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals; Tour Muscle Shoals music studios (FAME and Muscle Shoals Sound); Dinner at Odette’s and listen to live music in downtown Florence

Day 3: Depart for Birmingham (2 hours); Play 18 holes at Ross Bridge; Spa afternoon; Dine and Stay at Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa in Hoover for 1 night

Day 4: Depart for Montgomery/Prattville (1.5 hours); Play 18-36 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill; Stay at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa in downtown and enjoy The Exchange, featuring craft cocktails, light dining and live music

Day 5: Depart for Greenville (45 minutes); Play 18 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Cambrian Ridge; continue onto Mobile (1.5 hours); Stay at Renaissance Riverview Hotel for 2 nights; Dine at the original Wintzell's Oyster Hourse and then enjoy daiquiris and live music in a Cuban-themed speakeasy, Las Floriditas (get password at front desk of hotel)

Day 6: Play 18-54 holes at RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove; Dine at Dauphins on the 34th floor of the Trustmark Tower overlooking the Mobile River and boasting a lively piano bar. 

Day 7: Depart for New Orleans (2 hours drive)
